Stevens & Company Law Firm
Committed to Client Service
Established in 1996, First Nations lawyer, Samuel D. Stevens, works with former residential school students who wish to file a claim against Canada who operated Indian Residential schools where certain harms and abuses were committed against them.
Sam Stevens employs 14 legal and non-legal personnel who administer the claims through the Independent Assessment Process, one element of the Indian Residential Schools Settlement Agreement, the largest class action settlement in Canadian history.
Former students are compensated by the federal government through a neutral adjudication process. The Independent Assessment Process resolves claims of sexual and serious physical abuse suffered at residential schools across Canada.
Stevens & Company is committed to offering quality client service and keep the lines of communication with clients open at all times. The Firm makes use of state of the art computer systems, support databases, website, multimedia, mail and electronic mail correspondences.
The Firms philosophy advances the concern for the well being of all former students affected by the trauma of sexual and physical abuse while living in the Residential School System.
Additionally, Stevens & Company devotes time and thought to facilitating a Future Care Healing Plan with the client in following its mission to restore dignity and promote healing.
